This is been in the media a lot lately. Basically she is a lady that had 6 children, was artificial inseminated and gave birth to octuplets. She is single, lives in her parent's house, and has no income. Do you think this woman should be allowed to keep these children? What do you think about her situation? Is she crazy? Is she capable of raising 14 children as a single parent living in her parent's home? |

It stoped being on the news over here like, 2 days after it happend I think, I've not heard anything about it in a long time. But no, she shouldn't have even been given treatment, if she already had 6 children, she didn't need treatment. |

Personally everyone should just leave her alone, what she does is her own business and we have no right to get involved |

But it is, because with no income I guess it'll be others paying. I think that with 6 children, she had plenty, and that she should not have been given treatment. |

Its not exactly the doctors fault because they put a higher amount in there because the chances of them actually surviving are very low, not like I'm saying the doctor shouldn't have looked into it, but it wasn't his fault all of them survived. |

Let me rephrase everything I said just to clarify what I am saying. In my opinion I don't believe she should have gotten treatment when she already had children, I personally think that giving her treatment was a waste of hospital resources, that treatment could have been given to a woman who doesn't have children and can't get pregnant. This is my personal view on the issue. I also hole the opinion that if people didn't express themselfs in things they disagreed with, everyone would be able to get away with a lot of things. For somethings I believe that you can't remain indiffrent and just brush it off as something you shouldn't have an opinion about. Everybody is entitled to an opinion about everything. Oh, on another note, are people able to get benifits per child in the US? I know it's quite common here for women to have loads of children so they can live off the benifits so they don't have to work. |

If you claim each child as a dependent, you pay less on your taxes, but if you go on welfare, you do receive money for the children you have, the problem with the octuplet mom is, she can qualify for the welfare, but she refused it. The benefits in the US aren't really enough to live off of, but she did say that she wants to go back to school, in my opinion, she really shouldn't have so many kids, I think CPS (child protective services) should look into her case to see if her kids are ok. |

I don't think she's a bad mother in need of CPS. There was a story in the US that the doctor who performed the implantations was using how successful he was with Ms. Suleman to boost his clinics success rates and gain publicity. |

She's really only hurting herself. Trying to keep up with 1 baby is too much for most women, much less 14... |

Especially when 8 of them are newly-borns. I mean seriously looking after the octuplets would have been a near on impossible task in her situation, let alone with 6 other children. How is she going to give each one the attention that a child needs? And I agree with Kyonko. If she already had 6 children (which I believe is enough as it is) then she shouldn't have been given the treatment full stop. Like Kyonko said, it should have been reserved for those tht have no children and have extreme difficulties getting pregnant, not for somebody who already has 6 children. |

I have to agree with most people in this discussion. What she did was selfish and cruel to the children who are going to probably feel neglected throughout their childhood. She has no income. I don't see how she will be able to afford a good living for the children. She is stupid. I hope that the children go to a safe environment and are able to grow up normal. |

Someone bought her a big house for her and her kids, but a house isn't enough because the cost of food is too high, those kids are going to be poor growing up with nothing but handouts, In my opinion, she didn't need more love, more kids, she needed a psych evaluation or something. |

Really? Ya i don't think a house will help her out much. She need to get rid of those kids (a foster home), that's the only way i think they'll have a decent life. |
